May 12, 2020 Oracle SQL Developer is a graphical tool that enhances productivity and simplifies database development tasks. With SQL Developer, you can browse database objects, run SQL statements and SQL scripts, and edit and debug PL/SQL statements. You can also run any number of provided reports, as well as create and save your own. Macs have become popular where I work as well and most run PL/SQL Developer through a VM. All of our DBA's use them and developers are starting to convert. Macs have a lot of what I loved with Linux and I considered it. ☞ Become an 'Oracle Database PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional'! This PL/SQL course is created for Real Beginner to Advanced PL/SQL Subjects with hundreds of Real-World Examples. Every subject starts from the simplest for non-programmers and goes until the most advanced parts for the students who already know PL/SQL.

macOS Big Sur takes the most advanced operating system in the world to a whole new level of power and beauty, making your apps look better than ever on an all-new interface. New widget features and the new widget gallery help you deliver more value to your users. Adding intelligence to your apps with machine learning is even simpler and more extensive with new tools, models, training capabilities, and APIs. You can create more powerful Mac versions of your iPad apps with Mac Catalyst. And you can now easily bring your extensions to Safari — and to the App Store.

All-new Interface

macOS Big Sur brings a new design that’s been finely tuned for the powerful features that make a Mac a Mac. Core features, such as the menu bar and Dock, take advantage of the large Mac display, with translucent backings and spacious pull-down menus. The new Control Center, designed just for Mac, provides quick access to controls while keeping the menu bar clutter-free. Notification Center puts recent notifications and powerful new widgets together in a single view for at-a-glance information as you work. And a streamlined new design for apps features full-height sidebars and integrated toolbar buttons.

Widgets

Easily build widgets using the WidgetKit framework and the new widget API for SwiftUI. Widgets now come in multiple sizes, and users can visit the new widget gallery to search, preview sizes, and add them to Notification Center to access important details at a glance.

Safari Extensions

With support for the popular WebExtension API, it’s even easier to bring powerful extensions to Safari. Xcode 12 even includes a porting tool to streamline the process.

The new Extensions category on the Mac App Store showcases Safari extensions, with editorial spotlights and top charts to help users discover and download great extensions from the developer community.

Machine Learning

With macOS Big Sur, creating apps that leverage the power of machine learning is even easier and more extensive with additional tools in Core ML for model deployment, new models and training capabilities in Create ML, more APIs for vision and natural language, and improved resources for training on Mac and converting models to Core ML format.

Mac Catalyst

Create even more powerful Mac versions of your iPad apps. Apps built with Mac Catalyst now take on the new look of macOS Big Sur and help you better define the look and behavior of your apps. You can choose to turn off automatic scaling of iPad controls and layout, allowing you to precisely place every pixel on the screen. Provide full control of your app using just the keyboard, take advantage of the updated Photos picker, access more iOS frameworks, and more.

User privacy on the App Store.

Later this year, the Mac App Store will help users understand apps’ privacy practices. You’ll need to enter your privacy practice details into App Store Connect for display on your product page.

Tools and resources

Use Xcode 12 and these resources to build apps for macOS Big Sur.

PL/SQL Developer is an Integrated Development Environment that is specifically targeted at the development of stored program units for Oracle Databases. Over time we have seen more and more business logic and application logic move into the Oracle Server, so that PL/SQL programming has become a significant part of the total development process. PL/SQL Developer focuses on ease of use, code quality and productivity, key advantages during Oracle application development.

For a brief description of the new features in version 14.0, visit the New Features page.

Powerful PL/SQL Editor

Pl Sql Developer Mac Os X

With its Syntax Highlighting, SQL and PL/SQL help, Object Descriptions, Code Assistant, Compiler Hints, Refactoring, PL/SQL Beautifier, Code Contents, Code Hierarchy, Code Folding, Hyperlink Navigation, Macro Library and many other sophisticated features, the Unicode compliant editor will even appeal to the most demanding user.

Integrated Debugger

The integrated debugger offers all features you could wish for: Step In, Step Over, Step Out, Run Until Exception, Breakpoints, View & Set Variables, View Call Stack, and so on. You can debug any program unit without making any modification to it, including triggers and object types.

PL/SQL Beautifier

The PL/SQL Beautifier allows you to format your SQL and PL/SQL code through a user-defined set of rules. Your code can automatically be beautified when you compile, save, or open a file. This feature will increase your coding productivity and will improve the readability of your PL/SQL code if you are working in large project teams.

Multi-threaded IDE

PL/SQL Developer is a multi-threaded IDE. This means that you can continue to work as SQL queries are executing, PL/SQL programs are executing, debug sessions are running, and so on. It also means that the IDE will not “hang” if you make a programming error: you can break execution or save your work at any time.

Easy installation

No middle-ware required other than Oracle Net. No database object installation. Just a simple one-button installation procedure and you’re ready to use it.

System requirements

PL/SQL Developer will run on Windows XP, 2003, 2008, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. The supported Oracle Server versions are 7.x, 8.x, 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, 18c and 19c on any platform. To connect to an Oracle database, the 32 bit PL/SQL Developer version requires a 32 bit Oracle Client and the 64 bit PL/SQL Developer version requires a 64 bit Oracle Client.

Trial version

You can download a fully functional 30-day trial version to try out PL/SQL Developer yourself. If after 30 days you can’t imagine how you’ve ever been able to work without PL/SQL Developer, you can visit our ordering page for ordering details and price information. We have a customer list available if you want to get an impression of what organizations are using PL/SQL Developer.

Pricing & Licensing

PL/SQL Developer licenses are per named user, and not per PC, Server, Database or Location. Therefore you need just one license for one named user, even if you are running multiple instances on multiple machines. For complete license terms you can download our License Agreement.

If you order a Service Contract with your PL/SQL Developer licenses, you are entitled to receive technical support by e-mail and free product upgrades for the period of 1 or 3 years. Without this contract, you will receive only patch releases of the PL/SQL Developer version you purchased.
You can order the service contract directly with PL/SQL Developer. The service contract can be renewed when it expires. When ordering a service contract at a later time, a reinstatement fee will apply.

By the way, I love PLS/SQL Developer. It is a well designed and reliable product that has increased my productivity and – here’s a novel concept – it is sold at a reasonable price. Everyone at my company is pleased with your product and we all have tried similar products from your competitors with mixed results. Thanks to your company for doing what a company should do: please the customer.”

Tom Nitroy, Nitroy Computing Services, Inc.

Just wanted to drop some congratulations for the ability of PL/SQL Developer to recover from system crashes. I haven’t been blue-screened for years, but have had two in the last week. In both cases, PL/SQL Developer recovered all the open windows, queries and files I was working on. Fantastic! I doubt the other competing tools do this.”
